BOTANY ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION REPORT
The UG Botany Association for the
Academic year 2022-2023 was inaugurated on 15/09/2022. The chief guest was Dr. R. S. Sugin Herbert,
Assistant Medical Officer, Yoga and Naturopathy, Govt. Headquarters Hospital,
Padmanabhapuram. In his inaugural address, he spoke on the healthy life style
practices to be followed to improve the human health and for protect us from
various diseases. The health tips given by him was highly informative. It
enlightened the students to achieve good health. Our Principal, Dr. K. Paul Raj
in his felicitations wished our association to conduct and participate various
inter college and intra college activities. The meeting came to an end with the
National Anthem.

Our Department Association Valedictory Functions was conducted on 14/06/2022. Dr. Anami Augustus Arul, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Nagercoil was the chief guest. She encourages our students by explaining the scope of Botany.

Final Report:
A special programme ‘Green Fest’ 2022 was organized by our department along with the Green Agri club of Marthandam on 19/03/2022. Green Agri products exhibition and sale was conducted to the farmers to create awareness to cultivate and consume the ecofriendly food items.

The inaugural meeting of Botany Association was held on 12/11/2021. Dr. J. Josphin Mini, Assistant professor, Department of Botany, Women’s Christian College, Nagercoil was the chief guest. She gave an innovative talk on the topic `Bioprospecting’ to develop the student’s skill in the curricular and co-curricular aspects.
