The
Department of Botany, organized study tour for the III B.Sc Botany Students for
four days (23/03/2022 to 26/03/2022).
The group consisted of 34 students (31 girls + 3 boys). Dr.N.Maybel Starlin,
Dr.P.David Samuel and Dr.S.Sukumaran accompanied the students.
Main objective of the
tour was to visit those places of phytogeographical and ecological interest and
also to learn and witness the floral diversity. So the selected places of visit
were Ooty, Kodaikanal, Theni and Munnar. As a part of the curriculum, students
visited and witnessed the diversity of Nilgiri Hills and the adjacent spots
such as Government botanical garden, Ooty, Karnataka Garden, aquatic ecosystem
the Ooty lake etc.
